All serviced water meters are assembled, prepared, and calibrated according to Croatian laws, regulations, and approvals, ensuring compliance with legal, technical, and metrological characteristics applicable to the specified measuring instrument. We are authorized for the preparation and verification of:
All legal measuring instruments that are put into use or are already in use must be verified in accordance with the Law on Metrology (Official Gazette, No. 74/14, 111/18, and 114/22).
Legal measuring instruments are instruments used for:
1. Measurements in the trade of goods and services
2. Protection of human and animal health, general safety, protection of property, the environment, and natural resources, occupational safety, traffic, and protection against accidents
3. Verification of prepackages and containers as measuring containers
4. Measurements prescribed by the Law on Metrology, implementing regulations adopted on the basis of this Law, and other regulations.
The verification of measuring instruments is a procedure that includes the testing and marking of instruments, determining the conformity of the instrument to the approved type of instrument, and compliance with prescribed technical and metrological requirements. If the requirements are met, such an instrument must be protected and marked with verification marks.
If, during the verification of the instrument, it is determined that the instrument does not meet the prescribed requirements, the instrument is marked with the label "The instrument is not correct" and is protected from further use.
The verification of measuring instruments is carried out by an authorized metrologist of the State Institute for Metrology or an authorized body for the verification of legal measuring instruments.
The conditions that authorized bodies must meet to perform the tasks of verifying legal measuring instruments and the procedures for supervising compliance with the prescribed obligations of authorized bodies are regulated by the valid Regulation on special conditions that authorized bodies must meet to perform tasks related to the verification of legal measuring instruments and/or tasks of preparing legal measuring instruments for verification.
Our organization/company IKOM d.d. carries out verification in accordance with the Decision on approval for the performance of tasks related to the verification of legal measuring instruments issued by the State Institute for Metrology and represents the identification number of the authorized body "21," determined by the Decision on approval.

"Vodovod i Odvodnja d.o.o." Šibenik supplies water to over 45,000 metering points, including the islands of the Šibenik archipelago. Monthly meter readings and monitoring of the water supply network on these islands, miles away from the mainland, have proven to be particularly challenging. IKOM has installed a solution for its long-time client by establishing a fixed network on the two largest islands, Zlarin and Kaprije. With the communication infrastructure set up on the islands, water utility administrators now have daily meter readings at their fingertips, just a few clicks away.
Projects
The Utility Company "Vodovod i kanalizacija d.o.o." Rijeka is one of the largest distributors of drinking water in the Republic of Croatia. It supplies approximately 200,000 residents, with an annual water delivery exceeding 14,150,000 m3. The public water supply network spans over 1,000 km in length, with over 45,000 metering points. To ensure the smooth functioning of such a large system, meticulous planning of all factors influencing quality maintenance and network management is required, which "Vodovod i kanalizacija" has successfully achieved.
By establishing collaboration with "Vodovod i kanalizacija" Rijeka, IKOM d.d. aimed to address all situations and problems hindering the partner from achieving desired results.
Projects
HEP Elektra d.o.o. is the national distributor of electrical energy for the Republic of Croatia. Within the supply network, there are numerous transformer stations that are remotely connected to central units, and the presence of personnel is only required in cases of local supervision, interventions, repairs, and similar situations. In the event of emergencies in the water supply infrastructure, the response time was quite long, leading to operational problems and financial losses. IKOM d.d. installed Data loggers at 25 locations in the city of Zagreb for the client, enabling alarm notifications and continuous insight into daily and nightly flows and the consumption of measuring points.
